“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
As a child, our dreams were an endless flow of hopes and goals. Then as we grew older, the dreams became less and less. And for a few, the dreams stopped completely.
However, there is hope because dreams can be started at any time and any point in our lives. All you have to do is to choose to dream and let loose. I know that it may be difficult to jump-start a dream…especially if you haven’t been dreaming for a while.
A good way to begin…would be to simply close your eyes and attempt to go back to your childhood and think about all the dreams that come mind. If you are still stuck, then you could borrow a dream or two from your child, niece, nephew, etc. Listen to their dreams, see the glow in face, and watch the excitement in their body language.
I remember asking my cousin (much younger than me), “What do you want to be when you grow up?” He said, “a policeman, fireman, and doctor.” I said, “How can you be all of that?” He said, “Why not?” And I couldn’t argue with that response…
Not only that, his response became one of the defining moment in my life and the creation of my “Why not? Principle.” After all, when things come my way that are difficult or when others ask me why do I do what I do or think the way I think… I respond with “Why not?”
The “Why not? Principle” is the key to opening the door to the room that you placed all your dreams in. Our dreams are only limited by our imagination. Dreams are the foundation of creativity and innovation. And with creativity and innovation…goals, happiness, and fulfillment are just around the corner. Dare to dream again and follow your dreams…and somehow someday…you will be in awe when you start achieving your dreams one after the other.
- What are your dreams?
- What is stopping your from achieving your dreams?
- How will you achieve your dreams?
